ELIDA — Van Wert scored on a pinpoint pass with 3:31 left in the game to squeak out a 19-14 win over Elida Friday night. The Cougars are now 2-0 overall and 1-0 in the WBL. The Bulldogs are 1-1 and 0-1.

BRYAN — The Van Wert Cougars opened their 2025 football season on the road Friday night with a dominant 42-7 non-conference win over the Bryan Golden Bears.
