Lady Cougar tennis wraps up season at Sectionals
LIMA — The Van Wert Lady Cougars saw their tennis season come to a close on Thursday at the Division II Sectional Tournament, hosted at the University of Northwestern Ohio in Lima. While no players advanced to districts, the day was a testament to the growth and effort the squad showed throughout the fall.

MIDDLE POINT — A more experienced Fort Jennings boys soccer squad blanked Lincolnview 4-0 Thursday evening. The Musketeers are now 8-4-3, the Lancers 2-9-1.

St. Henry rallies from a set down to edge Parkway in four-set MAC clash
ST. HENRY — In a thrilling Midwest Athletic Conference (MAC) clash between two of the top three Division VI teams, the St. Henry Lady Redskins (16-4) came from behind to defeat the Parkway Lady Panthers (16-3) 23-25, 25-14, 25-10 and 25-20 on Thursday night.

Dealey makes Crestview history with state berth
BOWLING GREEN — Crestview senior Mathew Dealey etched his name in school history Thursday, becoming the Knights’ first-ever boys golfer to qualify for the state tournament. Dealey fired a 75 at Stone Ridge Golf Club, finishing in a three-way tie for fourth and claiming one of the coveted individual qualifying spots.

Officials Appreciation Week set for October 6-12
COLUMBUS — The Ohio High School Athletic Association (OHSAA) has designated the week of Oct. 6-12 as Fall Sports Officials Appreciation Week.



Crestview sweeps Jefferson to stay atop NWC race
DELPHOS — Crestview (12-6) continued its push at the top of the Northwest Conference (NWC) standings Tuesday night, sweeping Jefferson (4-16) 25-11, 25-23 and 25-16 to move to 6-0 in league play on the year.

Stoller closes junior season at district with steady 84
OREGON — Van Wert junior Zach Stoller capped off his golf season with a solid showing at the Division II District Tournament, carding an 84 at Maumee Bay State Park Golf Course to finish tied for 17th overall in a field loaded with talent.
