Patty L. Etzler, 88, of Greenwich, OH, died on Friday, January 10, 2025 at her residence. She was born in VanWert Co. OH to Gail and Bernice Mohr. Patty lived a lifetime of service to God, Family and Community. Her early childhood was spent with her Grandmother learning the value of hard work; it was also where she developed a love for gardening and baking. After graduating Convoy Union H.S. in 1954, she worked various jobs in the Convoy and VanWert area and eventually met her husband Lowell Etzler. Married in the spring of 1957 Lowell joined the Army and they moved to Ft. Riley Kansas where Patty said they weathered the Tornados and started a family. Moving to Edon OH in 1962 they continued to grow their family. Patty became active in the church and community where she built lifelong friendships which continued when they moved to Greenwich OH in 1969.
Raising 3 sons, Patty and Lowell continued their participation in church and community. Patty joined the mentoring program at South Central H.S. helping youngsters learn to read. They enjoyed making various crafts and would go to shows and flea markets where she said Lowell would talk and I would do the selling. After retirement Patty and Lowell enjoyed trips to Amish Country, The Michigan Blueberry Festival and The StoryTellers in Tennessee with their close friends. One of her biggest joys was sewing baby blankets for her grandchildren and making Prayer Shawls for members of the community.
Patty was preceded in death by her parents Gail and Bernice, brother Bill Mohr, sister Martha (Jody) Vonderau, and her husband of 66 yrs. Lowell. She is survived by her sons Michael (Michelle) of Greenwich, OH, Lowayne (Tammy) of Sandusky, OH and Randall of Delaware, OH; grandchildren, Brooke, Haley, Emily, Derek, Megan, Eli, Emily, and Nicholas (Leslie) of Bradsfordville, KY and Megan of Montpelier, OH; along with 16 Great Grandchildren.
