MIDDLE POINT — The ninth ranked Lincolnview Varsity Girls Cross Country Team placed third out of 13 teams at the Tiffin Cross Country Carnival this past weekend. The Lincolnview Boys JV team placed first out of 27 teams to win the Tiffin Carnival boys JV race.

VAN WERT—This year’s Cheer Competition was moved from the Van Wert County Fairgrounds to nearby Lincolnview High School. Event organizer Kim Mason says it was a difficult decision.

VAN WERT — Coming off a tough league win on Thursday the Van Wert Cougars looked to get on a win streak on Tuesday night when they hosted Kalida. However the Wildcats had other plans as they were able to take the victory in straight sets.

OTTOVILLE — The Ottoville Lady Green garnered a non-conference girls soccer clean sheet against invading Spencerville to the tune of 3-0 on an overcast, but humid Saturday morning at Robert Kaple Memorial Stadium.

ROCKFORD — If any fan attending the Jefferson at Parkway non-league gridiron battle on a hot and humid Friday night at Parkway Athletic Complex would have termed it a war of attrition, they would have been oh-so-right.

SHAWNEE-Spencerville got to be a part of the first regular season outdoor volleyball match in OHSAA history on Saturday night when they visited the Shawnee Indians. The Indians made quick work of the Bearcats in straight sets.

VAN WERT—Last season the Van Wert volleyball team went 2-21 and were winless in the WBL. The Cougars changed their fortune in their league opener this season on Thursday night when they hosted the Bath Wildcats.
