COLUMBUS GROVE — Perennial boys cross country power Van Wert won another district championship Saturday, taking home the Division II title at Columbus Grove. The Cougars advance to regionals next weekend.

COLUMBUS GROVE — The Crestview and Lincolnview boys both came up big in Saturday’s Columbus Grove Division III cross country meet. Two districts were combined into one race, so results were confusing.
VAN WERT—Homecoming king Briston Wise led Van Wert to its second straight win, a 28-14 Friday night win over Lima Shawnee. The Cougars are now 3-5 overall and 2-5 in the WBL. The Indians are 2-6 and 1-6.
MIDDLE POINT — Two of the best volleyball teams in the area squared off at Lincolnview Saturday evening, the Lady Lancers getting a big win over Miller City 22-25, 20-25, 2522, 25-22, 15-7. The two teams battled on almost even terms in each of the first four sets before Lincolnview took charge in Set 5.
MIDDLE POINT—The Lincolnview Lancers continued their home stand on Thursday night when they hosted the Defiance Bulldogs. It was tight in every set but the Lancers prevailed in straight sets.
MIDDLE POINT—It was an overcast day at the NWC cross country meet on Saturday morning at Van Wert Health. That didn’t stop the Lincolnview Lancers from taking the crown in the girls’ race while Columbus Grove edged out Crestview for the crown in the boys’ race.
MIDDLE POINT—After a loss to New Knoxville in a tough five set match last Tuesday, the Lincolnview Lancers looked to right the ship on Tuesday when they hosted Jefferson.
NWC — The Northwest Conference (NWC) announced its volleyball all-league honors last Wednesday evening, highlighting standout performances from the season.
VAN WERT — Van Wert Elks Lodge 1197, Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks has announced the lodge’s first place winners, representing Van Wert Lodge, who participated in the Northwest District Soccer Shoot Contest held in Findlay, Ohio, on Saturday, Sept. 28.
