VAN WERT — The Van Wert Soil and Water Conservation District held its 75th annual meeting by co-hosting with the Van Wert Farm Bureau at the Ag Banquet on Tuesday, Aug. 13 at Life House Church, Van Wert.
VAN WERT COUNTY — West Ohio Food Bank, a United Way of Van Wert County agency, will be distributing shelf stable food and produce at Trinity Friends Church on Tuesday, Aug. 27 from noon to 2 p.m. or until food is gone. This mobile food drive will be a drive-thru only event.
BOWLING GREEN — This past Friday night, Aug. 16, the Ohio State Highway Patrol, in conjunction with the Perrysburg Police Department, the Perrysburg Township Police Department and the Wood County Sheriff’s Office, conducted an OVI checkpoint on Front Street (State Route 65) in Perrysburg, Wood County.
VAN WERT COUNTY—On Sunday August 18, the Van Wert County Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) was dispatched to assist the Ohio City Fire Department for a house fire. CERT is working to raise support for the families.
VAN WERT—Aviation artwork that hung in the office of counselor Jules Krizan now has a new home. Krizan, who recently retired, wanted to find a fitting place for the art made by Van Wert native Paul Winicker.

Tri County ADAM Board to meet VAN WERT — The Tri County Alcohol, Drug Addiction, and Mental Health Services Board of Van Wert, Mercer, and Paulding Counties will meet on Aug. 27 at 5 p.m.
Besides a few intermittent showers, the sun shone brightly on the Wren Festival and Wiffleball Tournament this past weekend. By early Saturday morning, parking places were scarce as streets were lined by cars to the far reaches of the town limits.
VAN WERT—The Van Wert High School Class of 2009 will be holding their class reunion on Saturday, September 21 at the Harvest Moon Festival. A tent at the event has been reserved for all to gather.
