VAN WERT COUNTY — With the 2024 Van Wert County Fair quickly approaching, the Junior Fair Coronation Committee has announced this year’s candidates for King, Queen, Species, and Project Prince or Princess, with a record-breaking 22 candidates.
ROCKFORD—Rockford Mayor Ron Searight wrapped up another summer with village council on last Tuesday night’s meeting. He reminded the group that school was right around the corner and asked everyone to please be mindful of children waiting for their buses, early morning walkers and joggers.
CONVOY—Convoy Village Council met Thursday, August 8 in what was billed as a “public informational meeting”. The first order of business was to go into a 20-minute-long executive session.

Williams County – The Defiance Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a two-vehicle fatal crash that occurred on August 7 at approximately 12:10 p.m. at the intersection of U.S. Route 6 and State Route 66 in Springfield Township, Williams County.
CONVOY—Convoy Village Council met for its July meeting on Tuesday (July 30) at the Convoy Municipal Building. Absent was council president Neal Orsbon and mayor Tim Bolenbaugh.
WREN—Jeff Millay has been selected as the Grand Marshal for the Wren Homecoming Parade for 2024. Pastor Jeff grew up in Cincinnati, Ohio. AFter graduating from Grace Seminary in 1985 he served in two internships before accepting the Senior Pastor position at Pleasant View Church, two miles north of Wren on State Route 49, in early 1986. He has faithfully served at Pleasant View Church since then. As Jeff and Cindy raised their four children there were numerous opportunities to be involved with the community. His love of sports gave him additional opportunities for community service. Millay helped coach baseball and softball for many years as his kids played on different Wren and other teams.
