VWC Humane Society to hold 2nd annual Bag Bingo fundraiser

PPEC members donate $13,300 to 12 local organizations
PAULDING—Members of Paulding Putnam Electric Cooperative recently donated $13,300 to 12 local charities and community projects through the cooperative’s Operation Round Up program. About 80% of PPEC members round up their electric bill and donate those pennies to this fund, making a huge impact in the co-op’s northwest Ohio and northeast Indiana communities.

Garage fire in Ohio City
OHIOCITY—TheOhioCityFireDepartment responded to a garage fire at 11:30 Thursday morning on Jefferson Street in Ohio City, with mutual aid by Rockford Fire Department. The fire was reportedly started by a lawn mower that caught fire in the garage.

Garage/house fire victims need help
OHIO CITY—On September 19 the Van Wert County Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) was dispatched to assist the Ohio City Fire Department for a house fire. CERT is working to raise support for the families. After meeting with the family it is determined that monetary donations are needed.

DeWine visits Simon Kenton Elementary School in Springfield
SPRINGFIELD—Tuesday, September 17 was the first day the Ohio State Highway Patrol’s Mobile Field Force provided added security to the Springfield City School District’s 18 school buildings. Governor DeWine took the opportunity to visit patrol staff, as well as students and teachers at Simon Kenton Elementary School in Springfield.
