CAROL A. WILKIN
Carol A. Wilkin, formerly of Van Wert, passed away on June 5, 2025, in Findlay, just shy of her 77th birthday. Born on June 30, 1948, in Van Wert, Ohio, Carol was raised in the warmth of Wesley United Methodist Church. She later found community in Calvary Church and then Lifehouse.
A 1966 graduate of Van Wert High School, Carol pursued her passion for caring for others by completing the Parkview Nursing Program and becoming a registered nurse. With her caring spirit, she spent a fulfilling career at Van Wert Hospital, where she worked in both Coronary Care and the Emergency Room.
Beyond her nursing career, Carol shared a beautiful life with her husband, raising and training horses that brought them both joy and adventure. They enjoyed traveling together, exploring new destinations, and creating lasting memories along the way. Carol also enjoyed a little thrill in her life by trying her luck at the casinos, bringing a spark of excitement wherever she went.
She leaves behind her son, Andrew Wilkin of Glen Wood Springs, CO; sisters: Paula (John) Miller-Eisenhour of Findlay and Judy (Val) Lamaestra of New Haven, IN; brother, Gordon (Becky) Miller of Buckeye, AZ, as well as several nieces and nephews. Carol’s generous heart touched everyone who knew her.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Janice (Preston) Miller; husband, Larry Wilken; and daughter, Kristina Breisch.
A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, September 20, 2025, at the Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home Chapel, 722 S. Washington Street, Van Wert, OH 45891. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until service time. Carol will be laid to rest with her husband, Larry, and her daughter, Kristina Breisch, in Woodland Cemetery, Van Wert.
