Brent F. Hammons, age 62, of Elida, passed away Saturday morning at his residence, surrounded by his loving family, after a three-year battle with cancer. Brent is survived by his daughter, Cara Nicole (Hammons) and Noah Beall of Dayton; his son, Chad Anthony (Kendra Leist) German of Oak Harbor, Ohio; and grandchildren, Tripp Franklin Beall, Trace Anthony German, and Shelby Kate German. Brent is also survived by his two brothers, Bruce (Ruthie) Hammons of Landeck, and Brian Hammons of Orangeville, Il; two sisters, Linda Boyd of Middle Point, and Tina Davis of Montello, WI; and in-laws, David Osting of Van Wert, Kevin (Leila) Osting of Delphos, Pat (Cheri) Osting of Elida, JoAnn Stewart of Port Clinton, and Lisa Osting of Kansas. Brent is also survived by many nieces and nephews and their families. Brent loved his most recent job at Menards. Brent was a truck driver for D and D Grain, Roeder Cartage, Inc., and Airgas. His driving career lasted for over 40 years. Brent was a member of the Delphos Eagles #471, a volunteer for Walleyes for Wounded Heroes, Delphos American Legion Post #268, and the Am-Vets. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and riding his Harley. He was very passionate about serving and volunteering with Walleyes for Wounded Heroes. Things our beloved Brent will be remembered for are his love for family, his smile and his boisterous laugh, his easy-going personality, and most of all, the way he adored his cherished bride, Carol, and his daughter, Cara. He was known to always check in on his family and loved ones while driving on the road. These are a few of his wonderful qualities, and his memory will live on through the love and kindness he shared with the world. Please join the family for a celebration of Brent’s life on Sunday, September 14, 2025, starting at noon at the Fireman’s Clubhouse, 999 Lima Ave., Delphos.
