William “Brent” Stripe, 68, of Grover Hill passed away Sunday, November 10, 2024, at his home. He was born May 24, 1956, in Van Wert and was the son of the late Bill E. Stripe and Rea (Williamson) Stripe. On January 10, 1976, Brent married the former Callie Jacobs, who survives.Brent was a 1974 graduate of Van Wert High School and went on to become a tool and die maker and EDM operator. He worked at Eaton/Aeroquip for many years. He loved motorcycles and was a member of the Cruiser Club USA since 1996. Brent was also a member of the NRA. He loved to fly remote control airplanes and loved to travel. Brent’s favorite trips were cruises and bus trips. In addition to his wife, Brent is survived by a daughter, Stacia (Paul Palmeter) Stripe of Van Wert; and three grandsons, Kaid, Evan, and Lucas Burgoon all of Van Wert. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Natalee Burgoon, and a sister, Beth Young. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm Monday, November 18, 2024, at Alspach Gearhart Funeral Home and Crematory, 722 S. Washington Street, Van Wert, OH 45891, with Pastor Will Haggis officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service, from 11:00 am until 2:00 pm, at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Scott Cemetery in Scott, Ohio. Preferred memorials may be directed to the Van Wert County Humane Society, 550 Fox Road, Van Wert, Ohio 45891.
