VAN WERT — The 47th annual OhioHealth Cross Country Invitational brought strong competition to Van Wert on Saturday morning, as 17 schools and more than 250 runners took to the course. When the dust settled, the Crestview boys and Ottawa-Glandorf girls left with team championships.


HARROD — In a back-and-forth Northwest Conference (NWC) thriller on Friday night, Crestview held off a late charge from Allen East to earn a 34-33 road victory. The Knights improve to 4-1 on the season, while the Mustangs slip to 1-4.

VERSAILLES — Versailles (4-1) set the tone early and never looked back, defeating Parkway (0-5) by a 43-7 score in Midwest Athletic Conference (MAC) play Friday night.

DEFIANCE — Van Wert (3-2) used explosive plays and key takeaways to earn a 36-27 road victory over Defiance (2-3) Friday night in Western Buckeye League (WBL) action at Fred Brown Stadium.

WAPAKONETA — The Van Wert Lady Cougars (0-12) hit the road Thursday night for a Western Buckeye League (WBL) matchup against Wapakoneta, with the Lady Redskins (5-10) defending their home floor in a straight-set victory, 25-10, 25-15 and 25-22.

HARROD — The Colonial Golfers Club served as the backdrop Thursday for the Northwest Conference (NWC) boys golf championships, where Crestview’s Mathew Dealey claimed medalist honors while Lincolnview secured the team crown.
