VAN WERT—Three local food banks were helped by this year’s Vantage Day of Caring. On Friday, around 70 Vantage students and dozens of adult volunteers helped separate food collected over the past few weeks.
VAN WERT—County 4th-graders got a taste of agriculture last week for the 29th annual Not Just Cows and Plows exposition at the Van Wert County Fairground. The event teaches kids practical matters about farming, and is hosted by the Van Wert Soil and Water Conservation District.
VAN WERT—A new logo has been revealed for Van Wert County. The logo was designed by local graphic designer Ty Coil at the request of Van Wert County Commissioners.
VAN WERT—The Brumback Board voted to switch out their old machines during last Thursday’s meeting. The library currently has eight printers—seven small and one large copier-printer in the Administration office.
CONVOY — MayaWright from the Kirkland Museum of Fine and Decorative Art will speak on Oct. 13, beginning at 2 p.m. at the Convoy Opera House at 111 S. Main St., Convoy OH 45832. There are several prints on display at the Opera House. Anyone who has a print of Kirkland’s is invited to bring it with them to share.

COLUMBUS—Ohio Governor Mike DeWine has activated additional members of the Ohio National Guard to support the state of North Carolina in its recovery from flooding and damage caused by Hurricane Helene.
VAN WERT—The road to State for Golf began on Thursday as division two and three sectionals began. Crestview’s Matthew Dealey and Parkway’s Eli Schumn advance to next week’s districts at Bowling Green.
CONVOY—It’s all about putting together a good resume for the tournament draw next week and that’s what the Crestview Lady Knights looked to do on Saturday morning when they hosted the Coldwater Cavaliers. The Cavaliers pulled away in the second half to get the 6-0 victory.
