VAN WERT—An eight-year-old girl was interviewed behind closed doors Wednesday by Van Wert County Common Pleas Court Judge Martin Burchfield to determine whether she is competent to be a witness in any potential trial involving Nathan Stephens, 19, of Lima. Stephens is charged with two first-degree felonies (kidnapping), a second-degree felony (kidnapping), and two counts of gross sexual imposition which are third-degree felonies.
