VAN WERT—The Van Wert Land Reutilization Corporation (Land Bank) continues to explore options when it comes to rehabbing the former reservoir property on Blaine Street. In a quarterly meeting on Thursday, the land bank board discussed applying for a possible state grant to remediate the property.
VAN WERT — Van Wert water customers should receive another notice in their October water/sewer bill concerning total trihalomethane (TTHM) levels in their drinking water being over the allowable limits by the Environmental Protection Agency.
VAN WERT — Regional airports in Van Wert and Allen County, Ohio have received substantial grants for projects at their respective airports. Ohio Senator Sherrod Brown announced recently that seven airports in Northwest Ohio would receive more than $14 million through the Federal Aviation Administration’s Airport Improvement Program.

Jill L. (McCollum) Witherow, 78, of Van Wert, died Friday, September 13, 2024, at her residence. Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM on Wednesday, September 18, 2024, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory, Van Wert, with Pastor Phil Rittner, officiating.
