VAN WERT—CHP Home Care & Hospice held its Rays of Hope daycamp for kids dealing with grief on June 25-27 at YMCA Camp Clay in Van Wert. Rays of Hope offers a safe place for kids dealing with the loss of a loved one to find support and connection.

F I N D L AY — T h e Findlay Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal crash involving a single vehicle. The crash occurred on August 7, 2024 at approximately 1:26 a.m. on Interstate 75 near mile post 160 in the City of Findlay in Hancock County.

VAN WERT — On Aug. 8, the Van Wert County Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) was dispatched to assist the Scott Fire Department for a house fire. CERT is working to raise support for the families. After meeting with the family, it was determined that clothing, and monetary donations are needed.

VAN WERT — The Van Wert Municipal Court has released the activity report for the month of July 2024. The Court had a total of 605 cases for the month, as follows: 463 traffic cases; 85 criminal cases; and 56 civil cases.
