We're thinking Christmas already at the Niswonger Performing Arts Center of Northwest Ohio. That's because the release of tickets for the enchanting Christmas spectacular, "Spirit of Christmas" happens today! Beginning at 12 noon today, the NPAC box office will begin selling single ticket sales for this magical show which will take the Central Insurance Stage on Saturday, Nov. 28 of this year.
This glittering, all-singing, all-dancing Christmas spectacular has become one of the most famous Christmas productions around the world. Last year, "Spirit of Christmas" was the principle Christmas attraction at the famous Kodak Theatre in Los Angeles, home of the Tony awards and the Grammys.
"Spirit of Christmas" takes you on a magical journey to a winter wonderland of fun and festive cheer. You'll enjoy all your favorite Christmas songs, and meet Santa Claus and his merry helpers, tap-dancing penguins, singing mice, elephants in pink tutus, naughty elves and the highest kicking chorus girls this side of the North Pole!
The pictures and video I have seen show the magnificent color of costumes, backdrops, and lighting of a Broadway stage production. The music is both entertaining and inspiring as it includes both secular and sacred Christmas songs. If you are feeling a little hot during these dog days of summer, our "Spirit of Christmas" show will cool you off in a hurry. I can't think of a more family-friendly Christmas show!
I want to mention another show that I really think you will enjoy at the NPAC. Tickets are already on sale for this one, but I want everyone to understand the content of this one. It's called "American Voices" and features Larry Gatlin along with the Gatlin Brothers and special guest Andy Cooney. Our show was originally going to have Crystal Gayle as part of it; however a conflict with Bear Creek Farms in Indiana pulled her from our show. We didn't understand all the politics involved, but because of it, we now have the Gatlin Brothers joining our show. This will make our show very unique. It is the only show they will do together.
The real surprise might be Irish/American singer, Any Cooney. He is considered one of Ireland's finest entertainers and voices. Three weeks after performing American Voices in Van Wert, he will be on stage at Carnegie Hall in New York City.
American Voices celebrates country, patriotism, faith and friendship. It seems with all the political bickering going on nowadays, American Voices could be just the right medicine for our political ailments. Come, celebrate and enjoy the beautiful music and blend of legendary Country artists, Larry Gatlin & the Gatlin Brothers and Andy Cooney as we rediscover everything good about America!
NPAC box office will be closed Labor Day and the following day because we will be stationed at the Van Wert County Fair. You can visit us at the fair in the Commercial Building at any time, and you can even purchase tickets in the evenings and all day Saturday, Sunday, Monday and Tuesday from 12-7 p.m. Tell your friends to stop by and view some of our shows, we'll be showing DVD's of upcoming shows throughout the day. FINE'
