 TOLEDO, Ohio (AP) — Justin Drummond scored 22 points and J.D. Weatherspoon added 13 rebounds as Toledo held on to defeat Bowling Green 83-76 on Wednesday night.
The Rockets (19-3, 7-2 Mid-American Conference) jumped out to an 11-0 lead in the first 4:15 of the game and led the rest of the way. Weatherspoon finished with 12 points and Rian Pearson added 16. Drummond went 10 of 11 from the free-throw line.
Bowling Green (10-12, 4-5) climbed within two after a 6-0 run with 15:21 left to play. A 3-pointer by Drummond gave the Rockets a six-point lead with 5:25 left, but the Falcons managed to once again get back within two. Consistent free-throw shooting (29 of 35, 82.9 percent) kept Toledo ahead.



Jehvon Clarke and Anthony Henderson led Bowling Green with 23 points each. Clarke finished with eight assists and Cameron Black added 10 rebounds for the Falcons.
