MILLER CITY — The Paulding Panthers improved to 5-2 on the boys basketball season with a 65-53 win over Miller City on Monday night.
Miller City had a great game shooting the ball, making 19 of their 38 shot attempts (50 percent), but Paulding’s squad was even better. The Panthers connected on 25 of their 42 field goal tries for an astounding 60 percent from the floor. Paulding also secures more rebounds, grabbing 29 boards to Miller City’s 18.
All that added up to the non-conference win for the Panthers.
The Panthers, one of the better offensive teams in the area, came into the contest with three players averaging better than 11 points per contest. Monday night proved no exception, as those same three each bettered their season averages.



Forward Treston Gonzalez poured in a game-high 21 while Guy Harder added 15 and Kyle Kauser scored 12 points for the Panthers. Miller City also had a trio of double-digit scorers, led by Adam Niese’s 15. Jackson Lammers added 14 and Mick Lammers scored 11 in the loss.
Paulding was also victorious in the junior varsity game, winning 40-23.
