Knights fall short in NWC match

DELPHOS — Crestview’s Connor Lautzenheiser carded a round of 43 at Delphos Country Club on Wednesday afternoon to earn co-medalist honors, but the Knights lost a Northwest Conference match to Jefferson 184-194.
The Wildcats were paced by Carter Mox, who matched Lautzenheiser’s 43.
Crestview’s Caden Hurless was the only other Knight to break 50 on Wednesday, posting a 48. Ronnie Schumm was third-best with his 50 and Mitchell Rickard’s 53 rounded out the Crestview scoring.
Derek Biro (55) and Brett Schumm (60) filled out the Knight roster.
Crestview moves to 2-5 in the NWC with the loss and is now 7-8 overall this year. Jefferson, which posted wins over Ada (249) and Columbus Grove (194) as well on Wednesday, is now 5-4 in conference play and 8-5 overall.
Lady Panthers fall at home
ROCKFORD — Wapakoneta shot a team total of 193 at Deerfield on Wednesday to secure a 21-shot win over host Parkway. Emily Klopfenstein’s 45 was the low round for Wapak and was enough to earn match medalist honors. Casey Camico carded a 48 and Haley Kinstle posted a 49 for the Auglaize County squad. Abbi Cottle’s 51 rounded out the Wapaoneta scoring.
Parkway was paced by Terra Walls, who shot a 49. Autumn Stetler followed with a 53 and Taylor Hesse carded a 55. Brenna Brazle added a 57 for the Lady Panthers.
Other Panther scores were Chanel Walls (68), Liz Dellinger (78) and Maggie Houtz (81).
