WAPAKONETA — The Van Wert boys bowling team took part in a “double shift” match at Astro Lanes on Monday morning.
In the first match, Van Wert fell to Russia by a 2124-1919 score. The Cougars were led by a 194 game from Gabe Rollins. Other individual scores included Joey Kinner (166, 153), Tyler Ruger (167, 175), Colton Deschner (157, 160), Jacob Blackmore (127) and Andrew Price (187).
Van Wert lost both Baker games, getting outscored 401-300 in total pins.
In the afternoon match, Van Wert fell to a red-hot Wapak team. Despite piling up nearly 2100 pins for the match, the Cougars lost 2412-2093.
Leading the way in this match was Blackmore, whose 196 was the best individual performance by Van Wert in either match. Meanwhile, the Redskins had five individual games of better than 200 versus Van Wert.
Other individual scores for the Cougars included Joey Kinner (175, 190), Tyler Ruger (175, 179), Andrew Price (169, 194), Gabe Rollins (156), Colton Deschner (145) and Jason Zosh (180).

Wapak won both Baker games as well, with scores of 193-158 and 209-181.
The losses drop the Cougars to 1-6 this season.
