ELGIN, Ohio — Timothy W. “Tim” Adams, 62, of Elgin, passed away at 7:45 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 28, 2018, in the Van Wert Inpatient Hospice Center with his family at his side, following a short illness with cancer.

He was born March 26, 1955, in Lima, a son of the late Lloyd D. and Sarah M. Howell Adams.

On Oct. 7, 1978, he married Thressa Sue Wessel, who survives, along with two sons, Brandon M. (Chelsea Lautzenheiser) Adams of Celina and Andrew W. Adams of Vancouver, B.C., Canada; three grandchildren, Caiden Adams, Elyse Tackett and Gabriel Adams; and his siblings, Linda (Bill) Hahn of Cridersville and Gloria (Kenny) Ketcham of Wapakoneta and sister-in-law, Janet Adams of Wapakoneta. He was preceded in death by his brother, Daniel Adams, and little sister, Evelyn Adams.

Tim was a 1973 graduate of Spencerville High School and earned an associate degree in business at the Lake Campus of Wright State University. He had worked in manufacturing at the Flex-Foam Company in Spencerville for several years. He loved being with his family and grandchildren.

He was presently serving on the Elgin Council and was an inspirational mentor and leader of helping people with addictions.

A celebration of life will begin at 5 p.m. Thursday, March 8, 2018, in the Thomas E. Bayliff Funeral Home in Spencerville with the Rev. David W. Howell officiating. The family will receive friends after 1 p.m. Thursday until service time.
