SPRINGHILL, Tennessee — Romaine E. Smith, 91, of Springhill, formerly
of Van Wert, Ohio, and Woodstock, Georgia, passed away peacefully
Friday, Aug. 29, 2014, at NHC of Columbia, Tennessee, with pastoral care
provided by Peace Lutheran of Spring Hill, Tennessee.
Fort Wayne, Indiana, Romaine was a homemaker and a member of St. Andrews
Lutheran Church of Franklin, Tennessee. Her greatest legacy was her
large and loving family. She raised her children to lead their lives and
guide their families with true morality.
Surviving are her
daughter: Joy (Joe) Spoto of Lutz, Florida; son: Jack (Kathy) Smith of
Spring Hill, son: Randy (Tiffany) Smith of Cummings, Georgia;
daughter-in-law: Cheryl Smith of Tucson, Arizona; nine grandchildren; 19
great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; sister: Jean
Lahrman of Fort Wayne, and several nieces and nephews.
Romaine was preceded in death by husband: Leo Walter Smith; son:
Larry Smith; grandson: Andrew Howe; two sisters, and one brother.
service is 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 5, 2014, at D.O. McComb & Sons
Pine Valley Park Funeral Home, 1320 East Dupont Road, Fort Wayne, with
calling from 9:30 a.m., Pastor Thomas Eggold officiating. Burial will be
in Decatur Cemetery, Decatur, Indiana.
