BATTLE CREEK, Mich. — Robert L. “Bob” Hoersten, 66, of Battle Creek, Michigan, went to be with the Lord on Monday, Feb. 26, 2018, at Glenn Arbor Hospice Residence surrounded by his family. He was born in Van Wert, Ohio, on March 4, 1951, the son of Isidore Hoersten and Mildred (Schulte) Hoersten.

Bob graduated from Bowling Green State University with the Class of 1973.

Bob is survived by his wife of 46 years, Vickie D. (Maxson) Hoersten of Battle Creek, Michigan; two daughters, Megan R. Hoersten, Kristin Savage (David); son, Joshua R. Hoersten; four brothers, Jim, Jack (Sandy), Tom, and Mike (Liz); and one sister, Mary Ann, all of Van Wert; and six grandchildren, Aaron, Ethan, Caleb, and Leia Hoersten, and Caden, and Kyler Savage. He was preceded in death by his father, Isidore Hoersten; mother, Mildred Hoersten; one brother, Bill, and one sister, Alice.

Bob was a very avid collector of model trains and tractors. Bob devoted his life to God, and served him for his entire life. He praised God and thanked Him for all the blessings that he had in his life. He loved spending time with his family and loved making memories with them in his short time on earth.

Bob was employed by Eaton Corporation for 37 ½ years.

Visitation will be held at the Baxter Funeral & Cremation Service, 375 W. Dickman Road, Battle Creek, MI 49037 on Feb. 28, 2018 from 4 to 8 p.m. and at Brickner Funeral Home, 419 S. Washington St., Van Wert, OH 45891 on March 2, 2018, from 4 to 8 p.m. with service following on March 3, 2018 at 11 a.m. The Rev. Clark Williman will be officiating. Interment will take place in the Woodland Cemetery in Van Wert.
