CONVOY, Ohio — Patricia A. (Vorhees) Shivley, 77, of Convoy, went to
be with her Lord and Savior at 7:10 p.m. Monday, April 7, 2014, at
Vancrest Nursing Home, Convoy.
She was born May 5, 1936, in Celina, Ohio, to the late Goldie (Silvers) Vorhees and Russel Vorhees.
Her husband, Bud L. Shively, died May 25, 2008. They were married on July 11, 1955.
Survivors include children: Jan (Dan Tinnel) Edwards and Sheri
(Brian) Tindall, both of Van Wert, Ohio, Craig Shivley, Jill (Steve)
Diller, and Pam (Chris) Motycka, all of Convoy; a brother: Jack (Sandy)
Vorhees of Celina; sisters: Helen Sneddon of Celina, and Karen (Michael)
Bryant of Michigan; 10 grandchildren: Andrea Sealscott, Courtney
Linton, Alison Lyon, Michael Diller, Dan Shivley, Megan Shivley, Adam
and Libby Motycka, Lauren and Sam Tindall, and 15 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Beanie Edwards, one brother, and five sisters.
retired from Aeroquip-Eaton Corporation, Van Wert. She was a woman of
strong faith and a member of Trinity Friends Church, Van Wert, where she
was involved in the WOW ministries and volunteered in the food pantry.
She was a former member of Twigs, enjoyed entertaining, but her true
passion was her family - especially her children and grandchildren - and
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, April
11, 2014, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory, Van Wert.
Private family burial will take place at Woodland Cemetery, Van Wert.
Visitation is 2-8 p.m. Thursday, April 10, 2014, at the funeral home.
