VAN WERT, Ohio — Norma Lee Hodge, 79, died Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2014, at her residence.
She was born Dec. 23, 1934, in Portsmouth, Ohio, the daughter of the late John W. and Phrona (Eaches) Marlow.
On April 14, 1969, she married Ronald Charles Hodge, who preceded her in death on Dec. 13, 1995.
She served as mayor of Melrose, Ohio from 1994 – 1997. She was a
member of the Mayor’s Association of Paulding County, Ohio, and a life
member of New Haven, Indiana Moose Lodge 1480.
Norma is survived
by a son: Charles (Peggy) Graves of Van Wert; a daughter: Chauvonne
(Sam) Tolley of Clovis, N.M.; a stepdaughter, Pamela Hill of Harding,
Texas; a brother: Dent Flemmings of Columbus, Ohio; a sister: Margaret
Long of West Portsmouth, Ohio; seven grandchildren: Charles Jr., David,
Jeannie, Samuel, Heather, Holly and James; and five great-grandchildren:
Charles, Thomas, Nichols, William and William.
She was preceded
in death by two sons: Duane and David Graves; a daughter: Tara Hodge;
two brothers: James and Jack Flemmings, and two sisters: Gertrude Fyffe,
and Mary Kathryn Deamicis.
Funeral services will be conducted at noon Saturday, Feb. 15 at Den Herder Funeral Home, Paulding.
Visitation will be 10 a.m. until time of services on Saturday.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials made to the Norma L. Hodge family.
