LANDECK, Ohio — Lauretta M. Kroeger Schaffer, 77, of Landeck, died Wednesday, March 5, 2014, at her residence.

She was born Dec. 4, 1936, in Ottoville, Ohio, to the late John and Philomena (Warnecke) Brickner.

She was united in marriage to Richard Schaffer on Dec. 4, 1990. He preceded her in death on Dec. 14, 1991.

She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church and the CL of C #84.

She was a housewife and also worked as a healthcare worker.

Survivors include eight sons: Larry (Nancy) Kroeger and Rick Kroeger, both of Landeck, Jim (Patty) Kroeger of Leipsic, Ron Kroeger of Landeck, Leonard Kroeger of Lima, Jerry Jr. Kroeger of Rockford, Richard (Missy) Kroeger of Findlay and Dave (Shelly) Kroeger of Delphos; three daughters: Kay (John) Siefer of Kalida, Sue (Paul) Radabaugh of Landeck, and Marianne (Larry) Wiech of Columbus; two sisters: Rose (Otto) Wenzlick and Carolyn (Jerry) Schimmoeller, both of Ottoville; four brothers: Walt (Rose Ann) Brickner and Ralph (Sharon) Brickner, both of Ottoville, Steve (Sandy) Brickner of Columbus Grove, and John (Joan) Brickner of Warsaw, Ind.; sister-in-law: AnnaJean Bockey and Mary Brickner; Bill and Millie Kroeger; 25 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her first husband, Gerald Kroeger of Delphos.

She was preceded in death by sisters: Doris Ricker and Sister Catherine Brickner, a brother: Cliff Brickner, and a brother-in-law: Walt Bockey.

Mass of Christian Burial will be on Saturday, March 8, 2014, at 11 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Landeck. The Rev. Dave Reinhart will officiate. Burial will be in St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery in Landeck.

Visitation will be on Friday, March 7, 2014, from 2-8 p.m. at Harter and Schier Funeral Home in Delphos. There will be a CL of C service to begin on Friday at 7 p.m. and a parish wake at 7:30 p.m.
