NAPOLEON, Ohio — Larry John Gribler, 74, of Napoleon, Ohio died Saturday, June 14, 2014, at the Napoleon Lutheran Home.
He was born Feb. 12, 1940, in Van Wert, Ohio to the late Ladoyt and Dorothy (Walls) Gribler.
On Jan. 12, 1963, he married Louise Anne Kiehl who preceded him in death on June 22, 2001.
Larry worked at Federal Mogul in Van Wert, for 36 years as a
millwright. He served in the US Army from 1964 to 1968. He was a member
of the Napoleon American Legion Post 300, a former member of the Van
Wert American Legion. He was also a member of the UAW in Van Wert. He
was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Napoleon and a former
member of Christ and St. Paul United Methodist Churches. Larry loved
gardening and was an avid Ohio State fan.
He is survived by his
son: Jeffery (Catherine) Gribler; grandchildren: Elizabeth K. and Derek
J. Gribler, all of Napoleon; sister: Corriene (Roger) Carpenter, Liberty
Center, Ohio; sister-in-law: Pamela (Dana) Eaken, Antwerp, Ohio;
brother-in-law: David (Della) Kiehl, Sarasota, Florida, and several
nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife and unborn child.
services will be held on Thursday, June 19 at 11 a.m. at Rodenberger
Funeral Home, Napoleon, with Tom Polker officiating. Interment will
follow at a later date at Forest Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 2-8 p.m. and 10-11 a.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
