CELINA, Ohio — Larry Danny Wendel, 67, of Celina, passed away at 6:15 a.m. on March 17, 2014, at home with his family.

He was born a triplet on Aug. 4, 1946, in Mercer County, Ohio, to the late Lisle and Norma (Gehm) Wendel.

On Feb. 7, 1970, he married Linda Sudhoff at the St. Anthony Catholic Church. She survives.

Also surviving are his children: Marie and Tim Miller of Hicksville, Aaron and Maggie Wendel of Wake Forest, N.C., Danielle and Tim Feifs of Greensboro, N.C., Dustin Wendel of Celina; a niece: Jordana Stefano of Celina; brother and sisters-in-law: Vern and Kathy Wendel of Celina, Susan Wendel of Celina; sister and brother-in-law: Linda and Herman Rogers of Sebring, Fla.; half brother: Kevin and Teresa Wendel of St. Marys; stepbrother: Wayne and Judy Wilson of Florida; stepsister: John and Amy Bubp of St. Marys; nine grandchildren: Olivia, Ashtyn, Hunter, Addyson, Mckenna, Brennon, Harrison, Ava, Claudia, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his stepmother: Mary Wendel, brothers: Terry, Gary, Doug Wendel, his sisters and brother-in-law: Maryann and John Roberts, Konstance Stefano, and two nephews.

Larry graduated form Lincolnview High School with the Class of 1964. He was a resident of the Marsh Foundation from 1959-1964. He served his country in the United State Army as an aircraft mechanic crew chief during the Vietnam War from 1966-1968. Larry was a member of the Celina V.F.W. Post 5713, the Celina American Legion Post 210, and the Celina Moose Lodge.

He was formerly employed at Mersman Table in Celina, Avco New Idea in Coldwater, a telephone contractor, Omni Manufacturing, and retired from Reynolds and Reynolds after 25 years.

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, March 20, 2014, at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Celina, with Fr. Kenneth G. Alt C.PP.S. officiating, Burial will follow in St. Marys Catholic Cemetery in Celina, with military honors by the Celina American Legion Post 210 and Celina V.F.W. Post 5713.

A celebration of Larry’s life will be held from 12-4 p.m. on Thursday at the Celina Moose Lodge.

In lieu of flowers, the family would like memorial contributions made to the Celina Health Professionals or the Marsh Foundation.
