WEIRSDALE, FL — Jerry (Jake) Leeth, 76, of Weirsdale, Florida, formerly of Van Wert, Ohio, passed away on Sunday, Dec. 15, 2013 at home with his wife and son at his bedside, after a long illness.

He was born on June 11, 1937 to David and Dorothy (Nutter) Leeth who preceded him in death.

He was married to Sandra Pontius on May 18, 1963 in Van Wert, Ohio. They were married over 50 years and had one son, Neil Leeth.

He worked for Workman Brothers in Van Wert, Ohio in the early 60s, prior to joining the Ironworkers 147 in Fort Wayne, Indiana. He retired from Ironworkers 397 in Tampa, Florida and was an ironworker for 45 years. He also belonged to the Fraternal Order of Eagles.

He enjoyed working in the yard, going to flea markets, tinkering around the garage, watching westerns on television and being with his family.

He is survived by his wife Sandra and son Neil of Weirsdale, Florida; two brothers: Ben (Jackie) Leith of Kingman, Arizona, and Emmett (Becky) Leeth of Middle Point, Ohio; one sister: Ruth Baker of Englewood, Florida; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother: Veryl Leeth; a sister: Kathyrn Lee; and a niece: Sally Murray.

He will be cremated in Ocala, Florida. There will be no visitation.
