VAN WERT, Ohio — Herman Glenn Wells, 84, of Van Wert, died at 6:30
p.m. Sunday, June 15, 2014, at VanCrest Health Care Center, Van Wert.
He was born Jan. 26, 1930, in Paulding County, to the late Inez I. (Cotterman) and Lawson J. Wells.
His wife, Doris M. (Moran), survives. They were married July 21, 1951, in Continental, Ohio.
Other survivors include sons: Dennis (Kimberly) Wells of Dayton,
Ohio, and Randy (Martha) Wells of rural Van Wert; sister-in-law: Jackie
Wells of Van Wert; four grandchildren: Dawn (Chris) German, Amy (Adam)
Benner, Bryon (Stephanie) Wells and Jamie (Kim) Ream; 11
great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
preceded in death by an infant son: Gary Wells, brothers: Harold Wells
and Cleo Wells, and three sisters: Katheryn Yearling, Dorothy Dilbone,
He retired from Kennedy Mfg., on March 31, 1993, with over 23 years of service. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, June 19, 2014, at Cowan & Son
Funeral Home, Van Wert. The Rev. Paul W. Miller will officiate. Burial
will be in Middle Creek Cemetery, Washington Township. Military rites
will be conducted at the graveside by the combined honor guard of the
American Legion and V.F.W. Post of Van Wert.
Calling hours are Wednesday from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8.
Preferred memorial is Van Wert Council on Aging or CHP Hospice.
