DELPHOS, Ohio — Elizabeth “Bette” J. Richards, 92, of Delphos, died Saturday, May 10, 2014, at St. Rita’s Medical Center.

She was born Dec. 16, 1921, in Delphos, to the late Paul Schosker and Edna (Schmidt) Schosker. She was adopted by Ollie and Luella Schosker.

She was united in marriage to Claude “Mick” Drewyore, who preceded her in death. She married Donald Richards, who also preceded her in death.


She enjoyed watching TV. She enjoyed working at the Kalida Country Club and for James Rhoades Insurance. However, her true passion were her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was a member of the Red Hat, lifetime member of VFW Post 3035, and CL of C Council # 40.

She worked at the Kalida Country Club for 11 years. She also worked for James Rhoades for over 28 years.

Survivors include a daughter: Sharon (Ernie) Hines of Delphos, Ohio; two sons: Robert Drewyore and Timothy (Joyce) Drewyore, both of Delphos; two stepsons: Ronald Richards of Venedocia, Ohio, and Randy (Peggy) Richards of Marion, Indiana; two stepdaughters: Sandra (Larry) Caffro of Maumee, Ohio, and Mary Jo Miller of Grover Hill, Ohio; a brother: Jack Schosker of Delphos, Ohio; sisters-in-law: Marian Morris and JoAnn Wise of Van Wert, Ohio, along with a brother-in-law: Rev. Joe (Emma) Richards of Goshen, Indiana; 14 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a grandson: J.C. Caffro, great-granddaughters: Samantha Horstman and Paislie Dickinson Miller, and a stepson-in-law: Jim Miller.

A funeral mass will be Thursday, May 15, 2014, at 11 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist Church, Delphos. The Rev. Dave Reinhart will officiate. Burial will be in York Township Cemetery in Venedocia, Ohio.

Visitation is Wednesday, May 14, 2014 from 2 to 8 p.m. at Harter & Schier Funeral Home, Delphos. There will be a wake service at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 14, 2014, at the funeral home.
