VAN WERT, Ohio — Edna Mae “Daisy” Creel, 89, of Van Wert, formerly of Anderson, Alabama, died at 1:50 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 12, 2014, at C.H.P. Inpatient Hospice Center, Van Wert.

She was born May 29, 1925, in Ohio City, Ohio, to the late Grace Adeline (Magoto) and Henry William Stutz.

Her husband, Henry Lee Creel, died Oct. 10, 1987. They were married May 1, 1954.

Survivors include a daughter-in-law: Robin M. Creel of Montgomery, Michigan; stepsons: Jack, Tom, and Robert Creel; brothers: John Stutz of Venedocia and Danny (Carol) Stutz of Van Wert; sisters: Ruth Topp of New Bremen, Pearl (Warren) Mason of Van Wert, and Judy Lewis of Van Wert; four grandchildren: Sara (Bill) Creel-Tylka of Taylor, Michigan, Aaron Creel of Anderson, Indiana, Amanda Drumm of Marshall, Michigan, and Sam Creel of Bloomington, Indiana, and two great-grandchildren: Carson Drumm and Savannah Creel.

She was preceded in death by a son, Jeffrey H. Creel, who died June 22, 2012, brothers: Bill Stutz, and Bobby Joe Stutz, and sisters: Gertrude Topp, Tudi Miller and Betty Shertzer.

She was a homemaker, a member of Union Hill Cumberland Presbyterian Church and a 1943 graduate of Ohio City-Liberty High School.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 18, 2014, at Union Hill Cumberland Presbyterian Church, Anderson, Alabama. The Rev. Charles Hood of Cumberland Presbyterian Church will officiate. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, Anderson, Alabama.

Calling hours are Friday from 1-3 p.m. at Cowan & Son Funeral Home, Van Wert, and 9-11 a.m. Monday at the Union Hill Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

Preferred memorial is Union Hill Cumberland Presbyterian Church or Van Wert Senior Citizens Center.
