DECATUR, IN - Colleen Cook, 85, Decatur, Indiana died Saturday, Dec. 21, 2013 at 6:56 p.m. at Village of Heritage in Monroeville, Indiana.
She was born Jan. 26, 1928 in Grover Hill, Ohio to Ray and Rosella (Harpster) Cook, both deceased.
She had been married to Carl E. Elston who passed on Nov. 14, 2002.
She is survived by two sons: Darl W. (Debbie Long) Cook of Van Wert and Mark A. (Gwen) Cook of Convoy; two brothers: Don (Dessie) Elston of Grover Hill, and Gary W. (Cathy) Elston of Montgomery, Texas; three sisters: Lois (Kenneth) Kohn, Jr. of Dublin, Ohio, Eileen Thomas of Paulding, and Rosalie (Roger) McClure of Grover Hill; a sister-in-law: Orpha Elston; and three grandchildren: Joshua A., Jacob M., and Jessica N. Cook.
She was preceded in death by her parents and by two brothers: Lloyd and Randy M. Elston.
She was a homemaker and a member of First United Methodist Church of Decatur, Indiana. She graduated in 1946 from Grover Hill High School.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 27, 2013 at Cowan & Son Funeral Home at 616 S. Washington St. in Van Wert. Burial will follow at Middle Creek Cemetery in Paulding County.
Friends may call on Thursday, Dec. 26 from 3-7 p.m.
