VAN WERT, Ohio — Charlotte Eloise Morgan, 87, of Van Wert, died at 10:24 p.m. Wednesday, April 16, 2014, at the CHP Inpatient Hospice Center, Van Wert.

She was born Sept. 17, 1926, in Jennings Township, Van Wert County, Ohio, to the late Gertrude Mae (Tomlinson) and Don S Black.

She married Gordon T. Morgan on Oct. 12, 1947, at First United Methodist Church in Van Wert.


Charlotte will be sadly missed by her husband, Gordon; son: Thomas Morgan of Van Wert; brother: Dean L. (Diane) Black of Lakewood, Colo., and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She is also survived by longtime dear friends, Jo and Dick Kirkendall of Van Wert and Helen Stahl of Fort Myers, Fla.

She was preceded in death by a brother: Frederick H. Black.

She attended Pleasant School and was a 1944 graduate of Ridge High School. During her long residence in the Van Wert area, she had been employed as an office worker at Central Mutual Insurance Company and National Seal in Van Wert.

Charlotte was devoted to her family and was a caring person who had a positive effect on many others.

Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 27, 2014, at Van Wert Woodland Cemetery. The Rev. Tom Emery of Salem Presbyterian Church will officiate. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery, Van Wert.

No public visitation is planned.

Preferred memorial is CHP Inpatient Hospice Center, Van Wert.
