HAVILAND, Ohio — Charles Henry Fast, 89, died Saturday, July 12, 2014, at Glenn Park of Defiance, Defiance, Ohio.
He was born June 5, 1925, in Paulding County, Ohio, the son of the late William C. and Marie H. (Stiebeling) Fast.
On Feb. 23, 1947, he married June Gerber, who preceded him in death on Oct. 19, 2009.
He was a lifetime self-employed farmer, retiring in 2012. He was a
member of John Paulding Historical Society, Gideon’s International, and
the former Baptist Church of Haviland.
He is survived by a son:
Robert (Jan) Fast of Sanford, Florida; a daughter: Barbara (Seth)
Shelton of Shelby, North Carolina; a brother: William (Gloria) Fast of
Haviland, Ohio; two sisters: Barbara (Richard) Reichter of Andover,
Massachusetts, and Marie (Mike) Baughman of Columbia, South Carolina;
two grandchildren: Angela Myers and Joshua (Heather) Shelton, and three
great-grandchildren: Brady, Alyson and Blake Shelton.
He is preceded in death by a brother: John.
services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 15 at Den Herder
Funeral Home, Paulding, with Pastor Joe Shouse officiating. Burial will follow in Blue Creek Cemetery, Haviland.
Visitation will be 5-9 p.m. Monday, July 14 and one hour prior to services on Tuesday at the funeral home.
