DECATUR, Ind. — Bill Williams, 69, of Decatur, died Saturday, Nov. 4, 2017, at Van Wert Manor in Van Wert, Ohio.

He was born on Saturday, Oct. 2, 1948, in Decatur, the son of the late Clarence E. Williams and the late Isabelle S. (Troutner) Williams.

Bill served in the U. S. Army during Vietnam from 1966 - 1970 where he was the recipient of the Purple Heart after being wounded in action. As a result of the wounds he received in combat, Bill was a disabled veteran.

Survivors include:

Daughter — Tina (Allen) Wass of Decatur;

Son — John Williams of Decatur;

Sisters — Sue Krick of Decatur, Barbara (Daniel) Burkey of Portland, Indiana, Nancy (Larry) Gibson of Decatur.

He is preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Fred Williams, James Williams, and Terry Williams.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home-Decatur with the Rev. Ralph Klinker officiating. Interment will follow in the Decatur Cemetery where a military graveside service will be conducted by the American Legion Post 43 Color Guard.

Friends will be received from 2-5 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
