DELPHOS, Ohio — Betty Jean Conley, 87, of Delphos, died at 12:45 p.m. Sunday, May 25, 2014, at her residence.
She was born Feb. 22, 1927, in Lima, Ohio, to the late Otto Joseph Dolt and Olive (Rohr) Dolt.
She was united in marriage to Raymond Conley on April 25, 1948. He preceded her in death on Nov. 8, 2003.
She was a volunteer at the thrift shop at St. Peter Church. She was
an excellent cookie maker and would bake enough cookies for all the
businesses in town. She was a Girl Scouts leader, PTA president,
president of the Marching Band. She enjoyed working with ceramics, was
an avid reader and liked crossword puzzles. After being greeted, she
always responded with “I’m thankful.” She was a member of St. Peter
Lutheran Church. She was first and foremost a homemaker but also worked
as a secretary for L-Par Motor Sales.
Survivors include two
daughters: Linda Sue (Vernon) Boggs of Van Wert, Ohio, Vicki Lynn
(Randall) Rinehart of Delphos, five grandchildren: Amie Abbott, Steven
Hittle, Ryan (Miranda) Rinehart, Robb (Angie) Rinehart, Tara (Jeff)
Peters, and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother: William Dolt.
services are Wednesday, May 28, 2014, at 11 a.m. at St. Peter Lutheran
Church with calling one hour prior to service. The Rev. Angela Khabeb
will officiate. Burial will be in Walnut Grove Cemetery.
Calling hours are Tuesday, May 27, 2014, from 2-4 p.m. to 6-8 p.m. at Harter & Schier Funeral Home, Delphos.
