DELPHOS, Ohio — Alma E. Beckman, 87, of Delphos, died at 10:30 p.m. Sunday, May 4, 2014, at Lutheran Hospital in Ft. Wayne, Indiana.

She was born Aug. 16, 1926, in Ottoville, Ohio, to the late Gebhard Sr. and Mayme (Bohn) Gasser.

She was united in marriage to Herman H. Beckman on Oct. 11, 1952. He preceded her in death on April 30, 2012.

She was a farmer’s wife and she enjoyed sewing and gardening. She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church and CD of A. She worked at Drapery Stitch for over 25 years.

Survivors include four daughters: Marge (Ken) Wolski of Cincinnati, Jeanette (Al) Baaske of Convoy, Donna (Brian) Blake of Grand Forks, North Dakota, and Helen (Paul) Dixon of Van Wert; a sister: Rosemary Kramer of Delphos; a brother: Gebhard Jr. (Ruth) Gasser of Ottoville; eight grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a sister: Wilma Gasser, and a brother: Rudy Gasser.

Mass of Christian Burial will be on Thursday, May 8, 2014, at 11 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. The Rev. Dave Reinhart will officiate. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, May 7, 2014, from 2-8 p.m. at Harter and Schier Funeral Home. There will be a parish wake on Wednesday to begin at 7:30 p.m.
