VAN WERT — The following individuals appeared Wednesday before judge Martin Burchfield in Van Wert County Common Pleas Court:

Arraignments (All entered not guilty pleas)

Jeremy Whitaker, 37, Delphos, assault, a felony 4; resisting arrest, a misdemeanor 2; obstructing official business, a misdemeanor 2. Bond was set at $50,000 cash or commercial surety. Pretrial set for Nov. 22.

Jerad Caldwell, 31, Van Wert, aggravated possession of drugs, a felony 3. He was released on surety bond with pretrial set for Nov. 22.

Amanda Barnes-Hensley, 35, Van Wert, aggravated possession of drugs, a felony 5, released on surety bond with pretrial set for Nov. 22.

Drew Gaskill, 21, Van Wert, aggravated possession of drugs, a felony 5; and possession of cocaine, a felony 5. He was released on surety bond with pretrial set for Nov. 29.

Tera Hernandez, 38, Ohio City, possession of cocaine, a felony 5; and driving under suspension, a misdemeanor 1. She was released on surety bond with a condition of no operation of any vehicle with pretrial set for Nov.29.

Sonny Metzger, 42, Van Wert, aggravated trafficking drugs, a felony 5; aggravated possession of drugs, a felony 5; permitting drug abuse, a felony 5. He was released on a surety bond in this case with pretrial set for later Wednesday in conjunction with his previous case.

Donald James Smith, 39, Van Wert, possession of marijuana, a felony 5, released on surety bond with a condition of no operation of any vehicle with pretrial set for Nov. 29.

Sentencing

Taylor Shae Baker, 26, Van Wert, complicity in obstructing justice, a felony 3. Sentence: Prison 36 months, credit for 43 days served and to pay court costs.

Change of plea

Kessa Eddins, 33, Van Wert, changed her plea to guilty to possession of cocaine, a felony 5; and possession of heroin, felony 5. She then requested and was granted Treatment In Lieu of Conviction and her case was stayed pending completion of her treatment program.

Violations

Bobbie Burnett, 23, Van Wert, denied violating his probation and hearing set for Nov. 16.

Paul Bakle, 34, Van Wert, admitted violating his probation by failing a drug test and failing to complete Westwood treatment. He was sentenced to 243 days jail with credit for 198 days served.

Andrew Thomas, 36, Ohio City, admitted to violating his probation by using cocaine. He was sentenced to 180 days jail with credit for 97 days already served.
