VAN WERT — With just over one month left in the 2013 United Way Fundraising Campaign, the organization has brought in $415,000 from around the county. That leaves $85,000 remaining to raise during the month of June, and the United Way of Van Wert County will be seeking all donations to close the gap.

Campaign Chair Anita Carvajal said, “Our community has individuals and families that go without proper food, nutrition and essential medical care every day due to a variety of factors including low wages, job loss, injuries, illness, domestic violence, or divorce. While all of us are susceptible to hard times, children and the elderly are at the most risk, and they make up the largest number of clients we serve.”

During the month of June, the United Way of Van Wert County will be placing donation cans at local businesses in an effort to meet the needs of our local agencies.

The United Way of Van Wert County supports 24 local member agencies reaching out to youth, seniors, and other groups in need of assistance.
