PAULDING -- Two Paulding men found themselves behind bars this past weekend because when a probation officer stopped to check, he found an active meth lab.

Jeffery Holt, 45, Paulding and John Mobley, 43, Paulding were arrested and charged with second-degree felony illegal manufacturing of drugs, and illegal assembly or possession of chemicals for the manufacture of drugs, a felony of the third degree. The two were arraigned Monday morning in a Paulding County court.

During the early morning hours on Saturday, Paulding County Court Probation Officer Tony Gonzoles was accompanied by deputies to a residence on E. Perry St. in Paulding in order to perform a check on a person on probation. During a search of the residence, deputies from the Paulding County Sheriff's Office discovered the meth lab.
