Trucker injured in two-semi hit-skip crash in Van Wert County

VAN WERT -- A 66-year -old Indiana man was hurt overnight when the tractor-trailer he was driving was struck by another tractor-trailer rig on U.S. 127, just north of St. Rd. 709.
The crash occurred at approximately 3:30 a.m. Tuesday. A 2006 Mack semi, driven by John C. Frame of Osceola, Indiana was driving north on U.S. 127 when a second semi which was headed south, crossed the center line. The second semi was red with a white box trailer, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
The second truck struck Frame's truck rendering it disabled on the road. The red semi left the scene after the crash. Frame was injured and was treated and released at the scene.

The crash remains under investigation. A release from the Highway Patrol stated that "the red semi will have heavy damage to the driver's side." Possible damage to that tractor-trailer will include a missing driver's door mirror and support bracket as well as green paint transfer.
Assisting the Ohio State Highway Patrol were Van Wert County Sheriff's Office, Ohio City FIre and EMS, and Parker Mace Wrecker Service, as well as teh Mercer County Sheriff's Office and the Wapakoneta Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
