VAN WERT -- A Van Wert woman is in fair condition in a Fort Wayne hospital after a Sunday night rollover crash on Ohio City-Willshire Rd, which a State Highway Patrolman said may be related to alcohol use.
Shortly before 10:13 p.m. Shawnda Wicker, 25 was injured when the 2004 Ford Explorer she was driving went off the left side of the roadway. She got the vehicle back onto the road, but is started to turn and it rolled over, side over side, into a yard near the intersection with Liberty Union Rd. Wicker had been traveling westbound on Ohio City-Willshire Rd.
She was taken by Samaritan Helicopter to Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne with multiple facial and spinal fractures.
According to the Ohio State Highway patrol, Wicker was wearing her seat belt at the time of the crash, but alcohol is believed to be a factor. The incident in under investigation.
