We are warm! We love being warm. Our heating systems are our champions. Thank you to Hoffman Plumbing & Heating, Current Energy Solutions, Momper Insulation, and Ohio Indiana Roofing for taking what was once called a drafty old barn and turning it into a comfortable place to be even with the current ridiculous wind chill factors. While we did have to rearrange a Rotary meeting lunch and two classes we are thankful we have an awesome place to do our work.

Since our first Classic Watercolor Class was supposed to begin Tuesday we are going to lower the price for a three-week session. Class will resume next Tuesday morning at 10 a.m., at a reduced cost. Instructor is Pat Rayman. While this is an ongoing class, newcomers are more than welcome! Give us a call to sign up, and we will provide you a list of materials required.

The additional evening winter class – Pottery Throwing — which was also supposed to begin today will now run Jan. 14 - Feb. 7, beginning at 6 p.m. The instructor is local potter Dan McMahon. Students will learn basic throwing techniques and create items for a mini-exhibit and reception to be held at the end of the class session on Feb. 14, which will coincide with our upcoming event, The Big Wassky! Cost for this class is: $55 for members and $60 for non-members. All materials are included.

In February, back by popular demand, Matt Temple will put on his Anime/Manga hat to teach a class for ages 8 and up. Dates and details will be provided in a future column. Also in February, we hope to add some children’s art classes. We’ll be hammering out the details during our holiday shut down.

Please contact us for information on exhibits, classes, and activities.

By now most of you have heard we know how to have a good time around here and here’s your chance to find our for yourselves. The Big Wassky is happening Feb. 14 at 7:30 p.m. Transport yourselves to the juice joints of the roaring 20s with live music provided by popular Toledo band, Distant Cousinz. Why is this you speak? It’s easy! We are throwing a membership drive and your password and a few clams gets you and a St. Valentines Day loved one in the door all for a swell cause. We want you to know what all that roar is about so give us a call, we’ll give you the skinny. Flappers and 1920s fashions encouraged.
