Are you tired, run-down, listless? Do you poop-out at parties? Are you unpopular? Well, the answers to all your problems are in this 'lil show, "AVENUE Q", being performed at the Van Wert Civic Theatre Jan. 16, 17, 18, 19, 23, 24, 25, and 26, 2014. This adult themed "Sesame Street" spoof is a musical directed by Jerry Zimmerman and assisted by Linda McClure, with Music and Vocal Direction by Dee Hartsock-Fisher. Yes, there are numerous puppets in addition to human characters.

"Avenue Q" tells the story of Princeton, a recent college grad who moves into a shabby NYC apartment in the only neighborhood he can afford, all the way out on Avenue Q. He soon discovers that the residents of his building are not your ordinary neighbors. Together, Princeton and his new friends struggle to find decent jobs, stable relationships and a purpose in life, but ultimately realize the real world isn't so bad after all.

Who are these puppet and human performers, you ask? Below is a list of the cast for VWCT's third production of the 2013/2014 season:

Jerry Zimmerman as Princeton, a recently graduated English major who wants to find his purpose in life

Jamie Allen as Kate Monster, a lovelorn kindergarten teaching assistant who wishes to create a school for monsters; a parody of Prairie Dawn

Mark Sampson as Rod, a Republican investment banker who is secretly gay; a parody of Bert

Roger Rex as Nicky, Rod's roommate and a messy slacker; a parody of Ernie

Merry Thomas as Lucy the Slut, a nightclub singer who is as slutty as her name suggests; Lucy's like what might happen if Prairie Dawn on Sesame St. had grown up and gone bad

Cedric Reeder as Gary Coleman, the former star of Diff'rent Strokes, is the building superintendent of Avenue Q; a non-puppet character

Nick McClellan as Brian, a down-on-his luck Jewish 32-year-old who has trouble keeping steady employment and dreams of being a stand-up comedian. He is engaged to Christmas Eve. This is also a non-puppet character

Kristin Lee as Christmas Eve, a Japanese immigrant and Brian's fiancee. She is a therapist who has no clients. This is a non-puppet character

Chance VanFleet and Emily Klir as The Bad Idea Bears, the two adorable and sinister bears who can convince anyone to do something bad in the most adorable way

Dan Basinger and Joshua Mullenkamp as Trekkie Monster, a lovable monster who spends most of his time on the internet looking at porn; he is parody of Cookie Monster

Amy Boley as Mrs. Lavinia Thistletwat, a kindergarten teacher with Kate as her assistant.

Tina Kowalski, Maggie Markward, and Joshua Mullenkamp as The Box Puppets
