ROCKFORD — The Rockford Recreation Association unveiled the most recent donation made by an anonymous donor through the Shanes Park Legacy Fund. This contribution was made explicitly for the purchase of a new 2013 John Deere XUV 550 4x4 Gator utility vehicle from Kenn-Feld Group - Lefeld Implement in Coldwater. The organization would also like to thank Kenn-Feld Group for helping make this happen. This new equipment will be used for facility maintenance by the Rockford Recreation Association at the Shanes Park sports complex. An annual maintenance plan for the life of the equipment has also been included in this gift.
The Shane’s Park Legacy Fund is a tax-advantaged opportunity for individuals and businesses to invest in equipment and park improvements to enhance recreational opportunities for families and children of the Rockford Community and beyond. There is a plan for further development at Shanes Park that supports the future vision of the Rockford Recreation Association. Contributions donated to support this vision go immediately toward improvements that have recently included extended concrete spectator areas, permanent dugout improvements on all four diamonds, additional family picnic areas, Diamond 5 development, and ongoing facility and recreational enhancements.
The Rockford Recreation Association would like to extend their gratitude to everyone who supports the programming of our organization. Financial, in-kind, and volunteer contributions of all amounts allow our children to participate in organized recreational activities that promote teamwork, character, and active lifestyles and encourage families to “stay and play” right here in our community.
