VAN WERT – Winter Heating Assistance is being offered to Van Wert County residents. Due to the extremely low temperatures experienced in December and January, those eligible households residing in Van Wert County responsible for their heating costs, can receive a $150 payment payable to the provider.

Those applying must have a minor child. At least one adult in the household must be employed a minimum of 20 hours per week or receiving disability. The household’s gross monthly income must be at or below 200% of the current Federal Poverty Guideline.

This is not a disconnect program, and Van Wert County DJFS cannot guarantee the avoidance of a disconnect or interruption of service.

This program is effective Feb. 1 through March 29, 2018. Applications are currently available at the agency and can be turned in beginning Thursday, Feb.1. All applications must be received in the agency by 4:30 p.m., March 29, 2018. The Van Wert CDJFS is located at 114 E. Main St. Van Wert, OH.
