VAN WERT — Pastor Gus Christo-Baker and the congregation of First United Methodist welcome the Van Wert community for the annual Good Friday noon service this Friday, April 18, at 12:05 p.m. The service is an annual event hosted by the Van Wert County Ministerial Association, and will be an opportunity for those in attendance to become familiar with several area pastors.

Congregational singing, and presentations by the church’s organist will set the solemn mood for this service which focuses on the atoning death of our Lord Jesus Christ. The sermon will feature a modern parable of Christ’s sacrifice for all mankind, whether they humbly will trust in and receive His mediatorial work on their behalf, or, tragically reject it.

The service will begin promptly at 12:05 p.m. and be dismissed in a timely manner so that all in attendance may return to their afternoon work schedules.
