VAN WERT — The Van Wert Branch of the American Association of University Women (AAUW) will meet on Thursday, March 20 at 5:30 p.m. in the lower activities room in the Brumback Library. The evening will begin with a light supper meal prepared by the Branch officers as a mini-fundraiser for a donation. “Welcome, Spring!” will be the theme.
The program will be presented by Van Wert City Schools educator David Walker, who also enjoys historical reenactments. Walker will share information on the topic “Women During the Civil War Era.” A short business session will end the evening’s agenda.
AAUW branch members are reminded to bring all outstanding ticket monies to this meeting for the fashion fundraiser event to be held on Tuesday, March 25 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. in the First Presbyterian Church lower hall. The doors will open for entry at 6:15 p.m. The Van Wert AAUW is partnering with the First Presbyterian Church youth group on this venture. The general public is welcome to purchase tickets to attend this unique style presentation to be presented by Patrice Shafer, who worked in the fashion industry prior to living in Van Wert. The tickets are $10 each, and can be purchased from any AAUW member, or by contacting the First Presbyterian Church office or members of the youth group.
